Why You're the Only One Who Knows Where Anything Goes
A 30-minute sneak peek into the Dooley Method
You’ve finally tackled the entry closet. The jackets have hooks. Shoes are on shelves. There’s a basket for the odds and ends from your pocket to land.
It feels good. For a few days, maybe a week.
And then your partner drops their bag on the floor by the closet door. Your kids kick off their shoes wherever they land. And slowly, the chaos starts to drift back.
Sound familiar? The part that gets left out of the before and after.
Most organization systems work. But if the family weren’t part of the thought process to get things from point A to B — if nobody showed them how to make decisions about their stuff, or taught them in a way that didn’t end in a power struggle — one parent ends up owning the system and maintaining it.
That’s what led me to create the Dooley Method. A way to bring the whole family into the process, so when something needs attention, everyone can step in. Where children build a sense of confidence and pride in taking care of their home, not because they were told to, but because they feel competent knowing how.
The 30-minute video below is an honest look at what that method is, how it works, and what families can expect. If you’ve been wondering whether this approach is right for your family, this is a good place to begin.
Topics mentioned in this video:
What makes the Dooley Method different from other organizing approaches?
What will my family actually gain from practicing it?
How does it nurture positive values in kids?
How long will it realistically take?
Will the changes last?
How do I declutter while caring for young children?

I’ve included the table of contents in this printable, not to overwhelm you, but so you can see what’s inside that can help your family (For example, what to do with gifts, how to develop internal motivation, and how to organize everything from the medicine cabinet to the kids’ drawings.)
A Special Opportunity — Limited Spots
For years I’ve been applying the Dooley Method with my clients in their homes. Recently I created The Bedroom Reset: a 4-part mini course based on the first step I take with every family.
It’s designed to help parents prioritize their own wellbeing, regain a sense of calm and capacity, and introduce their children to home organizing in a way they actually get excited about.
That’s why I’m looking for a small group of families to try it first.
If you’re selected, you’ll receive the course completely free. In exchange, I’d love your honest feedback and — if you’re willing — your before and after photos and permission to share your experience.
This isn’t for everyone. I’m looking for families who are genuinely ready to do the work and open to sharing their story.
If that sounds like you, fill out the short form below to tell me a little about your family and where you’re starting from. I’ll be in touch personally if it feels like a good fit.
This offer is open to everyone — feel free to pass it along to a friend or family member who could use a bedroom reset.
Spots are limited. I look forward to reading your application.
