I love this, Ann. ❤️ I come from a single mom home, and I know my mom did her best raising me and my two sisters. She was always organized, and we helped her clean on the weekends. 😊 I love the compassion you have and how you help families create a calm and safe home.

🙏❤️ I am glad you enjoyed this post, Steena. Of all the clients I have worked with, single moms are the ones I go above and beyond for. Often I hear their stories how they ended up surrounded by clutter, the emotional weight and the slow shifts that led them to losing themselves and a grip on order. I am working with 2 single moms now. I am glad they found me, and I am honored to be able to help them with starting a new chapter of their lives with more joy and clarity.

Thanks for sharing this, Ann.

It's such an inspiring story. I can relate to this feeling of not having enough energy to resolve a problem.

Clutter is particularly challenging because it creates the conditions where you can't relax, you can't rest so the despair and low energy become an endless cycle.

Its basically that you dont feel safe and welcome in the one place where you mostly need to feel at peace.

I used to have a lot of clutter ten years ago. Fighting with my husband because he couldn't let go of things. I felt powerless to change things. I believed there was no way out.

Today we're in a completely different place. We reorganized a huge part or our home last weekend in a peaceful, collaborative and respectful climate.

It's absolutely possible to change.

I admire what you do so much. So many people need this support to take the steps and resolve this. There's no need to stay in despair and the guilt.

I appreciate you sharing this. I am also glad that your relationship has changed over time and now working as a team. I had a similar experience and know exactly what you mean.

I am aware that my preference for how neatly our home looks may be influenced by spending more time here than anyone else. I notice more and I have more skills.

We’ve talked about playing the long game in how we influence, inspire, and use connection to lead to collaboration.

But when it comes to my work, I advocate for getting the whole home organized steadily (average around 4-6 months) So if you have some momentum now, keep at it. Because when your home feels DONE, that’s how you can remove the urgency to support your family’s learning. It’s so there are no distractions that you have more to do. Instead, they already feel the difference, know what’s possible, and feel less intimidated to try for themselves.

It’s truly the short term pain for long term gain approach. Luckily, my clients actually don’t see it as pain. They actually love feeling confident in learning to do the work! 🥰
